UK Protect Duty or ‘Martyn’s Law’ is a new piece of legislation that aims to provide the public with better protection from terrorism in response to recent UK attacks, including Manchester Arena.
Currently in public consultation stage by the UK government, this legislation will apply to all buildings that allow access to the public.
We are excited to announce that we will be joined by Nick Aldworth. Nick retired from his 36-year career in the military and policing in May 2019, having spent five years serving within the counter-terrorism department. Nick is now campaigning for a UK Protect Duty, alongside Mrs Figen Murray, mother to Martyn Hett, who was murdered in the 2017 Manchester Arena bombing.
Leigh Harper, Principal Security Consultant and Luke Stevens, Senior Security Consultant will take you through the legislation, how this may affect your business and ways in which you can prepare to ensure your buildings, sites and developments can meet this new duty of care to protect the public.
There will then be a focused question and answer session with Nick. We will be taking questions live on the morning, but welcome you to submit your questions before hand to Helen Solimena, firstname.lastname@example.org, to ensure a they will be featured in the session.
