Head of Security – Aston University, Birmingham. Competitive salary

We are seeking an exceptional individual to become our new Head of Security, being responsible for the strategic and operational management and development of the security services function.

Managing a team of 30. The post-holder will contribute to projects across the University and work alongside a team of professional services managers responsible for campus development, emergency planning, business continuity and the PREVENT process.

Applicants will be able to demonstrate leadership experience in a senior security role, ideally, gained within a large and multi-functional institution. We are interested in applications from individuals in industry, hospitality, events planning, the NHS, local/national government and senior ex-police/military. You must be able to work sensitively with key stakeholders from many diverse areas of the University and because this is a management role at a time of great change in higher education, candidates must demonstrate sound grasp of financial management and budgeting and handling culture change.

NOTE: An Enhanced DBS clearance will need to be completed before appointment.
