HEFCE Catalyst Funding Call – harassment, hate crime and sexual violence

HEFCE believes that all students in higher education should be safe and free from violent crime, hate crime or harassment. To help us to meet this aspiration, we launched a call on 20 December 2016 for Catalyst Fund bids from HEIs and FECs to support implementation of the Universities UK Task Force report examining violence against women, harassment and hate crime affecting HE students. We hope to fund a wide range of projects with a maximum value of £50,000 (match funding from institutions is required). We are particularly, but not exclusively, interested in proposals which:
Develop ‘bystander’ initiatives, which trains staff and students in preventing or reducing violence against women and hate crimes, particularly among students
Develop projects, systems improvements, training packages and partnership working models to drive real change in this area
Deliver key activities and partnerships with students’ unions
Develop excellent transferable good practice for the benefit of students and institutions across higher education.
The deadline for proposals is 2 February 2017 and projects will be expected to begin in March 2017 and complete by May 2018. Click here for more information and bidding documents.
