Members (especially in the UK and Ireland) may be interested in the Association of Town and City Management (ATCM) Purple Flag Scheme, which has an accreditation process similar to the Green Flag award for parks and the Blue Flag for beaches. It leads to Purple Flag status for town & city centres that meet or surpass the standards of excellence in managing the evening and night time economy (ENTE), where students will of course be involved.

A comprehensive set of standards, management processes and good practice examples designed to help transform with a research, training and development programme, improving a town and city centres ENTE. Purple Flag is a positive initiative that indicates an entertaining, diverse, safe and enjoyable night out throughout the UK and Ireland and now being taken up internationally.
