The Security Institute

Another long standing AUCSO member making the news this week, is Malcolm Dawson BEM MSyl, Head of Security at the University of Leeds, who will now be representing the Security Institute on ProtectED’s Advisory Board. Speaking of his appointment, Malcolm, who has 44 years of police and HE security experience, said “I am immensely proud to be appointed the Security Institute representative on the ProtectED Advisory Board. ProtectED is a quality standard aimed at many of the issues that higher education institutions are faced with today, as we all continue to work to ensure that our campuses remain a safe and secure environment for academic study. Our role has developed in recent years to become a much broader one, covering not only student safety but also student wellbeing – which amongst other aspects is covered in the ProtectED Code of Practice.”

Congratulations Malcolm, we are sure your values and experience will assist the Advisory Board in their future growth and development.
