Head of Security, Campus Infrastructure and Operational Support Services (CIOSS)
This is a full time post is available immediately on a permanent basis.

Summary of the role/position

We are looking for an experienced Security Manager with excellent leadership skills to head up our Security service on what are complex, multi building campuses here in Exeter. Consisting of 19 team members who operate on a rotating shift pattern plus 2 in support, ensuring our campuses are safe 24 hours a day, 365 days a year. In this high profile role you will use your considerable professional experience to deal with a variety of events which could range from a visiting Prime Minister, to musical concerts both pop and classical to conferences and open days. No single day on campus is the same.

You will have responsibility for ensuring that relevant security policies and procedures are developed within current legal frameworks and that they are adhered to ensuring the safety and wellbeing of all campus users (students, staff and visitors). The ability to form and maintain highly effective working relationships with internal and external stakeholders (at all levels) through teamwork and networking is essential and you must have a track record of developing and implementing practical solutions for strategic and operational change.

This role would suit a strong leader with a general security background in a complex organisation who is looking for variety and challenge in both their working environment and activities. Key to this role will be your ability to lead from the front, make excellent decisions and champion new ways of working.                                     

The starting salary will be from £35,845 up to £38,017 on Grade F, depending on qualifications and experience.
