As we wish all our members around the globe a Happy New Year, we would like to send our colleagues in Australia our extra special thoughts and pray that all the universities are kept safe. Whilst we know everything will be done to protect campuses, we hope that staff and students homes are also kept safe. We can only watch from afar in horror at the devastation but send everyone there our very best wishes.

With other news breaking today in Manchester and tension in the Middle East, it is not a great start to 2020 and presents all our members with many challenges to deal with.
