NUS President

Some members will remember the student Zamzam Ibrahim, who appeared unscripted with some colleagues at our conference in Salford in 2016, protesting against ‘Protect’ with ‘students not suspects’ placards. Zamzam was given an open mic in the conference Q&A session and made a passionate speech on the subject. She is now the NUS President and has recently launched the NUS Plan setting out the priorities for the NUS for 2019/20. It’s the first time in many years that NUS UK has published this type of document, and it sets out how its resources and strength will focus on a specific set of priorities to create a better education system and a better society, led by students for the benefit of all.
