An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced security professional to lead the Security Team at Aston University.

The successful candidate will be responsible for the development, enhancement, implementation and monitoring of the University’s Security Strategy, and will shape the future direction of this critical service. You will also contribute to a team of professional officers responsible for managing Emergency Planning, Business Continuity and the PREVENT strategy.

Key elements of the role include: ensuring compliance with the law on all security related matters; developing positive relationships with other University Schools, departments and the Students Union; investigation of serious crime, breaches in security and student disciplinary matters; liaison with the Police, emergency services and local authorities.

We are seeking to appoint an individual with outstanding leadership and people management skills who can demonstrate extensive knowledge of contemporary security management and emergency planning. Candidates must possess a relevant professional qualification at level 5 or above together with evidence of achievement in a similar position.
